Click here for the Captain’s Report of The South Wales Tour. South Wales treated us to sunny weather for all our golf, with magnificent views at almost all times from the golf courses at Neath, Langland Bay and Pennard.

Alison, Barrie and Pat on The Pulpit
(the 15th tee) at Neath

Day 1 – at Neath Golf Club – the home club of Barrie – the JBGS Captain.

Leighton. Ray, Nernyion and Roy

Tony, Martyn, Bodin and Paul

Barrie was worried that he might have to change his speech – but all was well in the end.

The speeches after the dinner. Ryan Lewis making his speech while Barrie chuckles. The match result was a win by Neath of 4 1/2 to 3 1/2. The presentations: a contribution to Junior golf at Neath and the book James Braid and his 400 Courses. Thank you to Neath for a great time.
Day 2 – This was the Society Stableford at Langland Bay. Despite an awfully wet morning it turned out to be a wonderful sunny, windy and competitive day. First let’s talk tactics.

And here are the groups

And the winner was Steve Jones with 35 points – very well done Steve.
Day 3 – dawned bright and sunny and off we went to Pennard Golf Club

Enjoying just waiting for their tee times

Team 1 on the tee – Chris, Steve and Gareth – but where is the JBGS Captain?
Setting the scene – the Captain’s magnificent swing was caught in action and showed us all what we should be doing.

Here come the rest of the teams – to follow that. Team 2

So what are they all looking at here? We have no idea – unless it was the fly past which did not get caught on camera.

And then the finale – the ladies appear on the tee.

And now all spruced up for the dinner and the presentations.

And the result – immaterial really, but Pennard won by 4 matches to 2. Well done Pennard GC, but we had a really good time thank you.
