So now we come to the end of 2023 and the final events were held in Fife, in glorious weather. It started with a match against Scotscraig GC, followed by a Society day at Downfield GC with dinner afterwards. The final day saw a much anticipated match against The Golf House Club, Elie. Click here for the Captain’s full report, and wait for it, did the Captain get a win under his belt? Read on to find out. Thank you to Tommy and Barrie for managing the events.
Day 1 – September 6 – The teams meet up and get to know each other at Scotscraig GC for a pre-match bacon roll and coffee. And then the preparations begin – a practice on the putting green being unkindly labelled an ‘Airshot’. But isn’t this exactly what we see the Professionals do all the time on TV?

The Captain became anxious as the results started to come in as it seemed that he was entering uncharted waters. The Captain was heading into unchartered waters, and after requesting a recount, the unthinkable happened with a 4 -2 win by the JBGS. Well done everyone, what a way to finish 2023. Looking forward to seeing you all in 2024, take care and stay safe.
