The Shropshire Tour: Match vs Oswestry GC
Originally Oswestry GC was sited in Llanymynech before moving to Aston Park where, in 1929, James Braid was invited to lay out an 18-hole course. Play began in 1931, the course measured 6040 yds and apart from moving the 2nd tee, it is virtually unchanged.
Set in the glorious Shropshire countryside, with a friendly welcome, the mature parkland course is well suited to players of all abilities. With good tees, beautiful fairways and quality greens, and being designed by James Braid – who is renowned for his two tier greens, Oswestry is a truly special place to play golf. Its excellent drainage is ideal for all year round play.
