The first events held in 2023 were in Lancashire with a match at Clitheroe GC, and JBGS society days at Burnley and Lancaster golf courses. The weather was mixed, mostly sunny, very windy especially on top of the moors at Burnley and a short, but very sharp deluge at Lancaster. However, as always, a good time was had by all. Day 1 May 3 Members met up at the golf club for sandwiches and chips with members of the home club before going out to play a 4 BBB match with a ladies 4 ball, men’s 4 balls and mixed 4 balls.
Clitheroe GC won the match by 3½ to 1½.
Day 2 May 4 A JBGS Society day up on the moors at Burnley GC on a very windy day. Teams of 3 with the best 2 scores to count.
The teams were Barrie, Roy and Barbara; David, Peter and Angela; Tony, Paul and Alison. And the winners were: David, Peter and Angela by a country mile. Very well done you 3.
Day 3 May 5 was the JBGS Stableford at Lancaster GC, when we welcomed a prospective new member to join us.

And the winner was Barrie, with Roy the runner up. Nice work, and well done both. Then it was good bye until next time – either Brora, or Fife, or both. What could be better?
